Rookie Looking For Tips!

Hey Guys, I just bought an Akai MPC 1000 BK-N and I just have a few questions on how to create and record actual songs. I know how to make Chops and Edit samples and how to make SEQs no problem. I need to know what kind of recording programs I can find online (for free) that i can use to record my sequences and songs from my MPC to my computer. I would also like to know what types of connection cables i need to hook up my MPC to my computer.

come on man , as far as cables , look to see what u need, You know right off the bat u need 1/4" plugs depending on how many outs u have (count them and see how many u got.) then u have to see how many ins u have and find the corresponding wires.....if u need a midi cord to keep time if ur interface has a midi hook up , or just use the metronome clicks before ur song starts, and line them up afterwards.

for free programs ....they say reaper is good for free. everything u said u need to know about wires is either common sense or in the manual. Best Of Luck
