Cubase not syncing right

So I did a few searches on the forum and still couldn't what the problem was. I'm using a Midisport UNO 1x1 and set everything up correctly to sync with cubase via midi clock. Whenever i hit play on cubase my mpc would play off and on. and whenever it would sync, the screen would say "CLK SYNC" while it says "EXT". and whenever it stops it says "RX CLK".

This never used to happen when syncing with 2000xl. I'm guessing it's an OS problem?

You'd be much better using MTC to sync instead of midi clock. It's more precise.

I've tried using MTC already and it still wouldn't do anything. I searched around and found that other people had that same problem. Theres supposedly a bug in the midi clock sync in the 2500. im gonna try to install the latest akai os to see if the bug has been fixed. if not, then im switching back to jjos and buying an interface that allows me to record simultaneous tracks that way midi sync wouldn't be so important.

Rubbish, any midi interface will do for mtc/midi clock syncing. There's no audio component in either sync protocol.

What version of JJ OS are you using? I've used both MTC and midi clock sync successfully in both OS1 and OS2. Maybe the free one has a bug, but I don't remember, and I'd be suprisd if JJ left a version with such a big feature not working.

im using os1. the one you pay for.
it actually worked fine with 2000xl using uno 1x1. but it doesn't work the same for 2500 for some reason. imma try akai os.

it's actually the 2500 that's weird. anybody else having teh same problem??? thing is driving me nuts.

I am having a similiar problem with Nuendo 3 this is more with audio and midi tracks not syncing correctly.

I have not really researched yet due to I am justing my beat making phase right now.( basically stock pile tracks)
When I am ready to record them I will research. I never had the problem also with my 2000.. Midi seems not that stable and I have Akai OS 1.24.

I feel you on that, Beat's first. than tracking. but yeah, we all eventually would want to use midi.
So far i'd figure i'd do the same. and simply work around it by recording all tracks at the same time.

If you're getting the same problems with both JJ OS and Akai OS, it must be a problem with your setup or settings. I sync Cubase 4 (and SX3 before that) and my MPC2500 often (syncing both ways) and it's always worked, regardless of OS.

Ok, so I tried both os's and still the same problem. This is how I'm setting everything up.

- Hooked up my usb to my midi in and out to the mp.
- hit mode and pad 9 and switched sync in: 1 (slave). Mode: Midi Clock. Receive MMC: ON
-Go to "Device" on cubase and made sure my USB midi interface is recognized.
- Go to transport and sync setup.
- X'd my usb midi interface under "Send Midi Clock".

Using Cubase LE.

Are you sending MMC from Cubase aswell? If you're using midi clock, you don't need MMC as midi clock already contains transport controls. Try turning MMC off, and ONLY using midi clock.
