hey guys. so as i understand it, the max memory a 1000 can have is 128mb. is this 128mb of memory for a single song? or is it 128mb for any given second of playback?

i'd really like to get my hands on a 1000 but i'm afraid that 128mb won't be enough for how i want to work with it. i won't be using a bunch of one shots. what i'm planning on doing is composing 8-16 bar patterns in Renoise, then rendering those audio files into the 1000. in most of my tracks i usually don't have more than, say, 10-12 parts (which are 8-16 bars) playing at once. will this be enough?

thanks ya'll!

10-12 parts playing at once? You mean 12 different samples or what? I don't get it. :)

Anyway it should be enough for mots people. 128 memory is still a lot, with the wave version your MPC uses.

And if it's really not enough, you can always export your song when you're done before you start on something new... 128 mb is definitely more than enough enough for 1 song...

What? :?

128MB is the maximum of data you can have loaded while your MPC is running. Most of which is audio data. You can easily check if that is enough if you look at your rendered audio files you want to play, and add up how many MB they are as a 44.1kHz/16Bit file. Does that fit into 128MB?

Alternatively, you can look at the Manual which tells you how many minutes of audio data fits into the memory.

sorry, that wasn't very clear. yes, by 'parts' i mean samples. :)

thanks for your response

thanks. that clears things up :)

yeah, I read the manual before posting. i wasn't sure if the RAM was the max sample time for a song (all the song's audio files' sizes added up), or if it was (real time) while the MPC is running. like on my computer-- say I have 8 samples playing at once at a certain point in a song, then the next bar I only have 10 samples playing-- more RAM will be used if I have 10 samples playing. in other words, i wasn't sure if you could have a whole song contain more than 128mb but you couldn't 'playback' more than 128mb sample's worth at a given point in a song.

thanks ya'll.
