RAM Trouble

I just installed some RAM and now when I turn on the MPC I have to wait through a 'passing' stage where I get to watch a lovely percentage increase as the thing scans.

When it is finished I get a message that reads

MPC1000 BootBlock Ver:1.03
Boot on SODIMM memory check mode
Total memory size : 128MBytes
check memory.....
pass 1 : failed (8c000000)
The problem was found in memory.
Please check the memory.
system halt.....

Can anyone explain what this is about??? It seems I will have to give it another go and buy more RAM, but I am not sure where the problem is occuring exactly because I am not a tecchie.

i had this also, with laptop ram what was not
compatible with mpc,
change ram.
do some research in the ram topics., good luck.

Yeah the RAM is not compatible, I went threw this numerous times before i got fed up and copped the rip off akai RAM. Unless you have a computer repair joint by you, or ebay etc. Its hard to find RAM that small nowadays, Good Luck, if you didnt already know, be very careful handling the RAM, your static electricity could funk it up too.

Guess I'll chuck it if noone I know needs it.

I'll have to research a bit more next time... I did match all the specs, I just suppose that it wasn't compatible.

Oh well, I'll give it another go this week and cop something off EBay.
