Think about it, you have 24 pulses (spots) to lay a drum down for every quarter note (the distance between the Kick on the 1 and the snare on the 2). 24 x 4 = 96 spots to lay a drum/sample in 1 bar. So basically, of course you can do 1/32. 1/32 quantize IS an option, along with 1/4, 1/4t, 1/8, 1/8t, 1/16, 1/16T and 1/32T. Hi Res = 1/64T.
Hi Res = 96 spots per bar to lay a drum...(24 per 1/4 note)
1/32 = 32 spots per bar to lay a drum.. (8 per 1/4 note)
Many folks do the double tempo 1/8 auto correction with a swing of 67 or 71%.
I used to. I just use normal tempo and 1/16T, 1/32, 1/32T, or Hi Res. If you can program, your beats won't have any less "swing."
Like I said before I highly doubt anyone could tell me which beats on my page are programmed by the sp. Some beats may use sp sounds but rely on a different sequencer. Some beats may use the sp sequencer but it is triggering different samplers.
Way too much hype on the sp swing. The machine sounds dope and is easy to use. The sequencer is whatever to me. I got tired of not being able to program my synths so I got an mpc as well. (sp only sends note on messages, good for one shots).
