You would love it then! It has amazing pad sounds though, but it isn't dry like my Nord. The Nord is super dry....

[quote="modular"]The problem with MicroKorg XL is the ugliness of that thing. I mean, that is one ugly synth. Plus, it looks like a chinese toy keyboard from the late 80s, which sucks.

hey.. i like it when it looks like a toy. especially when it looks like a chinese toy. no joke man.

It's a different sound engine, so the sounds can't be identical I guess.

I actually like the all black look better, it's retro in a different way, and it's cool that it looks like a cheap toy-like synth when that's actually what it is

I won't get it tho'. I'll stick to my Waldorf for the chords and fancy stuff and hope to get a Moog or analog Korg for analog basses sometime.

You can crack toys like that open and add 1/4" outs no problem....
Even if you are joking... it can be done pretty easily.

you know what??? i wouldn't mind doing a track with sounds from a keyboard like that, it would be interesting to see what i could do. hmmm... you just gave me an idea

Man I love the sound of the Nord! It's raw and sounds good! A lot of modern VA's disguise the fact they sound pants by soaking the presets in lots of onboar cheapo fx NOT the Nord, it sounds great raw and also with fx...I heard the Alesis Ion and it sounds good but man I'm a total clavia freek, that thing can do techno with it's eyes closed...
You ever seen Aril Brikha on it? Check this out...this kind of gives you an idea what it's about...plus think of any good uk prog house track of the 90's...thats nord....underworld? They have two, etc etc man it sounds the shit I would get it over the alesis in a flash. Which reminds me I need one again! If you can pick up cheap also get a alpha juno 1/2 or 106/60 or waldorf pulse
