Which one do you own? Have you used them both? Or have you read the specs? just a question

I think you'll find that most of us have the model that was the cheapest available at the time we bought them. Simple as that. The MPC2000 was the first "cheap" MPC compared to the previous models. I got an MPC2000 in 1999 when I noticed the price was going down.......which was because the 2000xl was being released later that year. The MPC1000 hasn't been around very long which is why less people have it. Plus MPCs are built to last. You don't need to get a new one every couple of years.

Does 1000 have zone and slice?
I don't think it has timestretch...

Honestly I care a lot about how things look and I think the 2000XL looks the best... I know I could make beats on anything I just need these dope looking boxes around me to get creative... I'm a sick man...

1000's look pretty good too but not quite as good...
4000's are ugly as sin...

OK hopefully by 2morow when I show up for work some of you will be postin up how stupid that is of me...

Good night!

The 2kxl has more features than the previous 2000.
-next sequence key
-track mute key
-simultaneous playback of a second sequence
and a hinged LCD screen.

Personally I cant stand the 2kxl. Its too commmercial. Also I cant stand the hinged LCD. Its just prone to snap off...

out of all mpcs on the market, I'd have to stay with my 2000.
