Nah, they dont do too great i dont think... I had some old MPC 2000XL samples, that didnt crossover too well, most didnt even show up on pads... I might play with them again when i get back in town later this week to see if they would help

So....Chicken Systems left the door cracked open. Somebody hear in the forum should spearhead (favorite military term) this in terms of gathering support for this program and networking with Chicken Systems.......

Thought that is what you were doing? I thought you were doing a fine job!

Thanks!

I would be very interested in a Software Editor for the 5K. There are so many reasons as to why, but I will list just a couple.

(1) It would be nice to be able to go through my hard drives and assign all my 1 hit drum wav samples to a program that made it an efficient and easy process.

(2) Having this ability opens up doors in terms of previewing samples and cateloging them (again efficiency and ease of use are key here)

(3) MOST IMPORTANT - I could make drum programs at work!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If the program was done right, it would be an invaluable tool to any serious MPC5000 user. I can't imagine anyone not wanting something like this, which would undoubtably make our lives exponentially easier!

Several people in the forum wrote several posts about wanting an editor like Aksys for the 5K (me not being one of them). But I thought I would try to get them on the right path be first creating this thread to see how many people are really interested. But I don't have the time to see this through to th end. One of you guys/gals that claim you really need such a product should be the champion of this project.

THought I'd chime in.

Our MV-8000 editor was made for several reasons.

One was that the MV really needed it. Another was that we wanted to do a "dummy' program that would help us with our larger Constructor program. MVKC formed the basis of that work.

The MPC editors that are out right now are good "free"/"limited price" programs. MVKC went one better and is a good $60 program. So we could make a MPC program like MVKC that would be better.

We are thinking about it, more positive about the idea then negative.

Will do!

All the MPC's after the MPC-1000 generally use the same file format. I understand there is a new modification to the original (an update), but that's should be an issue I don't think.

I might next week take a poll here and come up with a collection of features.

Yes, we'd like 1 or more people yelling at us about it, it's always important to know the demand for a product. We have so much to do, that (whether we like it or not), if we don't hear anything, it gets put off.

I assume you mean the Motif XS? I'd like to comment here, but it is a MPC forum. There are things happening, let me know if you'd like me to be specific here, or email me at [email protected] and I can answer any particular question.
