Don't know why this happens, but it does ...
win xp sp2
pro tools m-powered 7.4
M-audio audiophile 2496
Delta 44
motif es
mpc 2000xl
.... simple connection motif slaved to mpc, mpc slaved to Pro Tools (mpc midi 1 in, to my sound card midi out) ....simple
- All my midi notes are in the mpc
- all the sound and samples come from the motif
basically, this works, for the first hour then the timing goes "off"...
All I want is the mpc to start when I press Rec.+Play in pro tools, that's it . .. ....is it the cpu or the sound card?...
Looking for some feedback, I've read the "sticky notes" and went to the pro tools page, great help , but I still get the same problem.... anybody have a similar setup but with no timing issues??

Any advice would be appreciated... thanks

Both your MPC and Pro Tools cannot be the 'Master' device.

There should be ONE master device, with the others being slaved to it.

As this issue isnt specific to the MPC you are using, I'd say this thread belongs in the 'Studio Environments' forum where you'll probably get more assistance from the helpful folk there.

I think Clint is on the right track. Sync the MPC to PT, then add the other items to the chain.

Hmmmm this looks real serious and I feel there is only one answer.

Pro Tools will only work if you use the almighty god given BEAT KANG! The MPC is useless. BEAT KANG is the only remedy for your production. Hurry and get one now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
