i recall as i was laying in bed last night thinking of pleasantrys(sp?) to drift me off into slumber, i was thinking that maybe this announcement about the 2500 could be an expansion board for the machine.

i don't know if this has been previously mentioned, but it would be nice to be able to browse and audition samples on the CF card while the sequence is playing...

Sorry guys, been up to the proverbial cojones.

I have been waiting for certain updates (that I cannot discuss), and I was going to incorporate these updates in the DVD.
But they are slow in coming so I will probably just finish it and add an appendum when the updates show up.

I have also finished the e-book series and a few other beat production and sound design contracts, so will have more time to complete the dvd.

Apologies for the delay but out of my hands.

Sarcasm doesn't wear well with me.

I have tried to keep everyone updated and because we are in dialogue with Akai, over a number of issues that I cannot discuss, this makes it harder for me to give reasons as to the delay.

Word, Zuk's puttin stuff out tho. He just put out the Production Bible so its not like he's sleeping on it.

I'm just wondering what all this talk with Akai is about. Goodluck dude. I don't care that its taking long, I just wanna see a DVD worth buying (don't cover manual material). I wanna see sequencing and sampling tricks and tips and stuff I wouldn't of thought of myself.

I had a dream about this last night!!!

I was dreamin that Akai would either;
1- Put an option at startup where you could choose whichever OS you wanted to load.
or
2- Incorporate that panel underneath that no one knows what its for (diags maybe) for expansion. Which got me thinking to some kinda touch screen which would rival the new Roland thingy.

Come on Akai, pull your fingers out.

so now the new os 1.23 dropped - the only real change was the 128 programs

@zukan: can you tell us if you still can´t talk to us, please?

...then we would know that there might be a next os with real new features, or we can decide to change to another os faster.
i see your point in making a video for the official os, but if the inofficial os is really better than the official os it makes more sense to produce a video for that. you know that seasoned producer will eventually buy it because they are interested in your methods, but the average young beatmaker follows their idols- if they use alternative os the young cats will also...
just imagine a mpc 2500 in a pro studio interview, jj os clearly on the screen and a real heavyweight producer says something about "this is waaay better, skrew the official minimal *'+#?&%..."?

keep up the work and use your contacts with akai to convince them that we are in 2007 and customer satisfaction should still be of value for companies.
otherwise people might start to tell stories about new and extended features in products from other companies that actually talk to their customers. problem might be in the japanese mentality and that it is hard for them to admit mistakes, but if they want to market us then they have to deal with us, right?

Well Selecta beat me to it. I do appreciate the midi fixes but we can expect more to come soon, right?

I dont want to use an unofficial o.s. I love the MPC but right now my new 8800 is killing it. Since I have so many songs done with 2500 Im used to it and refuse to give it up. I just hope they have more in store :?
