OK, I'm a glutton for punishment: this is my attempt to answer all those questions like "how do I use my Triton/Fantom/Motif/XV5080 with the MPC?"
I've tried to present the logical background to why things work the way they do, and how you can avoid trouble by being methodical and always remembering the basics. If you go "well, duh", then this tutorial isn't for you!
I welcome any comments and suggestions, all I ask is:
- please read it all, to the end of Part 4;
- it's supposed to be basic and general, and about MIDI only: no Production Techniques will go in there, that's too much stuff.
- understand that I'm describing one way to do it. Not the only way, but the way I think makes most sense for the folks on this forum, the ones with a lot of gear and no idea how to tie it all together!
Enjoy!
