Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

I've recently bought a MPC 2000 Classic with a Gotek floppy emulator installed. So far I've been booting OS 1.72 from a SCSI device. However, I would like to boot from the floppy emulator. I did some research and some experiments but so far I'm unable to boot with the Gotek.

What I have:
- A USB pen drive.
- A HFE boot image file and a config file: DSKA0000.HFE, HXCSDFE.CFG
- OS 1.72 files: MPC2000.SYS, MPC2000.EXE
- HxC Floppy Emulator software for Mac: HxCFloppyEmulator.app

Can someone please explain how to prepare the usb disk to boot on the MPC?

The way I do it is: Put the usb into the Mpc - format disk - then take out the usb - put it into the computer and drag and drop the operating system onto it.

They can be a bit temperamental, and I think they have to be in the right order e.g - Mpc 2000 (File) first and MPC2000 SYS (file) last.
Like this-

Mpc 2000
MPC2000 SYS

You can download a fresh coppy of the O.S from the Akai website.
Some times it takes a few attemps to make it work but once it does ....well it does.
hope that helps.
