I tried to stay away from the pc as much as possible, but now I'm starting to understand the combining your pc and MPC opens you to a new world of production.....

Anybody that uses this combo.. please give me some insight as to how I can make this happen, or better yet can it happen for me?

I have a MPC 60(3.10) and I plan on getting reason 2.5 this weekend.....

thanx in advance.......

Yes there is a whole new world that can open up if you use Reason
along with your mp. I have mine set up like this I use reason to
send sounds, samps, loops into my mpc then you can sequence
them also flip them along with a full beat for some extra intrique
this is good for a live situation yes some of the Reasons Factory
sounds may be a little muddy but I make my own samps and you
can get around this by using good quality sounds the NNXT sounds
are usaully good quality.

Enjoy it it's not just a job it's an adventure.

yeah i use reason to sequnece MY OWN SAMPLES. not the presets. I use my mpc and reason just like someone would use an asr with the mpc.

there is a product called sonic refills (refills for reason). it is true that the factory preset s*ck but the sonic refills will make reason into a pretty nice tone module. plus, the refills are pretty cheap ($37 a piece). checkout www.esoundz.com they sell them there and also at guitar center. your could fine tons of free refills online and at propellerhead web site.

you are going to pretty happy with reason. mpc and reason is a very powerful setup. have fun. :D :D

i dont really use reason no more casue i got a hardware sampler, but i used to make a pattern with the mpc using redrum and then record the midi data from the mpc into reasons sequncer. then use a dr rex or nnxt or nn19 samplers and the synths with the mpc as just a controller. I also have a midi keyboard to control reason. Ive never messed with the refills so i cant speak on thouse but i have recycle and i just make my own .rex files and import them in.

I don't f*** with it beacause reason has particular "sound" to it that I don't like. Its a dope progam though. A while back, all my gear got stollen and all I had to work with was my laptop and reason. I got by on it.

i am not pointing any fingers but individuals do not spend enough time with reason because you can make some nice music with it. as musicians we should know what a nice song is whatever type it is (soul, rock, jazz, hiphop, classical, irish, germen, chinesse, african, even songs made on mars, etc). a good song is a good song. just go to propellerheads website and listen to some of the tunes they have posted there. if may not be your type of music but listen to the production. reason is a bad boy, especially from the price ratio.

reason is straight and i have heard some good shit come outta it and have made some good shit with it, but i got a yahama a5000 now and that and my mpc is for me the best setup. reason is cool but i noticed its real thin with the sound on its own. u need to run it thru good plugins to give it some character. My sampler has a much warmer sound and with the mpc is a whole package. [/b]

what kind of sound card and midi device do u have? u really should cop a soundcard with asio support. there under 200 on ebay. and u need a midi interface. if u dont have this shit u will probally have latecny and that shit will make u want to pull ur hair out. ull hit a key and then 2 secs later u will hear a sound.

I have combined both also. It can make a good sound module and since you can add your own samples and rex files theres no limit.
