Quick question

the last post i read had some nice info on sampling some weird stuff....I just wanna know how you guys go about hooking things up to you MPC to do it....I"ve just been sampling vinyl, but I"d like to get some stuff off of some DVD's and what not. Is it as simple as hooking your MPC up to your TV like you would your playstation or something?

Let me know.....Xmas break is around the corner and Ima have some free time to mess around.

RED/White Line outs on VCR, Playstation, XBOX, Gamecube, TV, DVD Player can all be plugged into 2 x 1/4 mono adapters and plugged into your 2 MPC record ins. Anything gear with a line out can be plugged into the MPC record ins. If the source is not line level then you will need a pre-amp or mixer or something. I sample from my xbox, dvd and vcr all the time, even from my little Mini Disc player (my line out is 1/8 stereo Y cable - splits into 2 red/white RCA's plugged into 2 x 1/4 mono adapters then plugged into my 2 MPC record ins.

secondly its all abouts elads and amplification- on the back of your dvd you should have some rca outputs- you the types which go in the back of a stereo and are red and white or red and black.....get some of these and go from the dvd into a channel of your miser and then take a direct out into your sampler...you may need some converters to change the rca to jack if your mixer only has jack inputs....but you dvd may have an amplifier stage built in and you may find you can run straight from the dv into your sampler...again using converters to change th rca connection to a jack one...

videos should also have rca outs at the back- ditto playstation some scart converters actually have red yellow and black rca built in...

ah you look very much like David Beckham which if you're not into football probably means nothing but he's easily the biggest star in the UK....good on the ball too...
