How come I can't load new OS into my MPC1000?

I've done everything said and my mpc keeps telling me that a new OS was not detected and will load old OS 1.04. I the instructions for downloading the update and followed them word for word numerous times and still nothing is working. Can somebody please tell me what my problem might be?

drag the .bin file and the text file into the mpc folder disconnect the mpc from the comp and then turn off the mpc then while holding the window button, turn the mpc on(but keep holding the window button) then it wiill ask you some question about do you want to load the new OS or somethin like that and it'll say push record button to do it and hit the record button this is exactly what i did and it worked out fine if it doesnt work let me know
