This is what i do.... I take the instrumental beat... Then I make a beat on my mpc... Then i try to mix them to gether and fool around with the Mpc's tempo until they're in sync'd with eachother... I never trust those BPM counters i have 2 and there all ways off a lil...
Goodtimes...

I'm wrong sometimes too so I can't even live by my own answers.

That will take a while, the counters aren't perfect, they will always be off just a little but it's a good starting point AND it's quicker.

use the tempo of the original song and apply it to the acapella, you can then time stretch it or build a beat in that tempo.

how about this one:
use the tap tempo on your mpc. Tap it to the snares of the song. works for me.
If you get something like 40.....just double it. (depending on your tap tempo settings)
if you have the acapella, did you cop it off the internet? or vinyl? IF you dont have the instrumental....then tap it at the end of his verses.
