I’m sure someone has posted this before but I think its only right that people are reminded again (so you don’t have to go through the crap I went through!). After upgrading to OS 1.20 YOU MAY RISK ACCESS TO YOUR ZIP DRIVE! Have your MPC floppy drive with OS 1.14 on floppy close by if you do decide to upgrade and things go wrong.
I believe there is a firmware issue with “some” Zip drives and OS 1.20 because my MPC would not recognise my Zip Drive 250 until I swapped the drive with a newer Zip Drive 250 (from my PC) and this enabled me to restore OS 1.14.
Also Check the jumper setting on the Zip Drive to make sure the drive is set to Master or Master 1. I had to set my PC Zip Drive to Master 1 with two jumpers before OS 1.20 would recognise my PC Zip Drive 250 in my MPC.
However, I have read that OS 1.20 works fine with Card Readers so this post is for those planning on upgrading to OS 1.20 with Zip Drives in there MPC 2000 XL
I hope this saves someone some stress.
