Try it and let us know. Or to quote Lamp "report back with your findings"

I will as soon as I can. But to do that I first have to buy an scsi card reader for the synth, or find a computer with a zip drive to format a disk on.

I formatted a cf card via fat16 in pc, I
load wav samples from the computer onto
that card into my triton extreme and mpc 2kxl..

I used to do the same thing with floppy on my old
triton classic and 2kxl floppy drive to/from computer..

Now I got cf readers all around and it's still the
exact same procedure.

no problems..

the triton extreme and classic can also read fat16 as well.

It's all good as far as the extreme goes..

Thanks Lamp.

Do you keep all the samples you're transferring in the root directory of the disk, or can the MPC and Triton recognise and read folders?

2kxl and triton extreme and triton classic can read folders.

For 2kxl, I place samples, ALL, PGM, APS all for the same song in the same folder.

For Triton I place all samples, PCG, SEQ, KMP and everything else for the same song in one folder.

No problems going from folder to folder on either machine.

Alright cool. What I was specifically getting at was, for example, you can create individual folders on the XL, and then open and read them on the Tritons.

So it looks like it should be alright. I might just go ahead and order another card reader.

Good looks

Peace

it's just a folder, sure you can. making a folder on that fat16 disk cf/floppy/zip with the triton. xl and computer is the same all around. All the machines can open everything.

pay attention... :D
