pads on my mp are bad!!!!! ???

maybe someone knows this, eight of the pads on my mp don't work, i have the mpd16, and wanted to use it as a controller to controll the mp, will this work, are there any setting that i will have to know, or does anyone have any suggestions until i can get my mp fixed.....thanks in advance

Yes you can use the mpd to control the mpc. I not long ago bought the trigger finger and the pads on it are great for me plus i can control drums on the computer. The 1000 is a powerful little box even more so now with the new os but the pads are the downside. Even of the pads that do work on my 1000 many are stiff. So your not alone with the pad problem many people on this forum replace pads all the time.

where can you get them repaired at.

at home. i'm actually right now as we speak repairing my mpc pad.

as i've found, there can be a couple problems with pads.

1-the graphite contact is straight broken in half. solution - replace the graphite pad with tin foil, something else. problems with this solution - double triggering/must be used at full velocity all the time. unpredictable, but useable. don't use this pad for something you play often.

2-the graphite contact has come loose from the sensor. solution - glue the graphite pad back into place with rubber glue - NOT SUPER GLUE because this will make it so your pad will never be able to be fixed again. problems - i'll see in a couple minutes, but the pad should be just about good as new.

either way, open up your mpc and take a look (if it's outside warranty already.) otherwise, take it back.
