converting 70 bar song into a sequence

i made some drums and i have 21 sequences. each sequence is 2 bars long. i arranged my sequences into a 70 bar song (40 steps). i read the section in the manual on how to convert a song into a sequence. i followed the steps and converted my song onto sequence number 22. now the problem is when i play back sequence number 22 it is not arranged the same way i had done it in song mode. my song is 70 bars and sequence 22 plays until 87 bars. it even has some hits in there that i did not program in. what i want to do is convert my song into a singe long sequence so that i can add the melody on top of it, otherwise i would need to add the melody to each individual part (21 parts/sequences). i hope this makes sense. please forgive me for my ignorance (i'm new)

incase anyone is interested i worked around this by tracking my drums in protools first. then i created a new 4 bar sequence with only trumpet stabs and melody. i made a few variations of this pattern then i also tracked this into protools.

ALL of your 21 sequences DON'T have the same track, programs structure.

This will cause your song to play crazy like that.

You actually DID program that stuff but at certain times the sequence programs don't line up correctly, so it plays your sequence but not the correct sound on a track.

ie.

SEQ1
track 1 ALWAYS drums in DRUM1
track 2 ALWAYS snare in DRUM1
track 3 ALWAYS hhat in DRUM1

SEQ2
track 1 ALWAYS drums in DRUM1
track 2 ALWAYS snare in DRUM1
track 3 ALWAYS hhat in DRUM1

SEQ3
track 1 ALWAYS drums in DRUM1
track 2 ALWAYS snare in DRUM1
track 3 ALWAYS hhat in DRUM1

If you make ALL of your 21 seq's tracks line up and mirror each other
you will NEVER have a problem converting song to seq.

Make sure that you choose the 'OFF TRACKS IGNORED' when converting.

Choosing this option means that your sequences will play 'AS IS' when converted to a SEQ from SONG.

ohh that makes so much sense now. when i created my 21 tracks they were not mirrored identically (i had changed the order on some and removed some tracks from others). is the option for 'OFF TRACKS IGNORED' available with the 2000 classic or is this an XL feature? thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

I dont know if the 2000 classic has the feature ( I would think so, tho.)
