Yeah, just copy the track to anotha track and go into step edit and delete the instruments that you dont want from the track you just copied. I'm assuming that you already know how to work the seq edit and step edit feature!! If you dont understand what i just said let me know so I can walk you through it.

thanks BTracks I understand, I was just hoping there was a single split command or something that I was overlooking.

You can also go to Seq Edit and choose Move and copy each pad to a different track in a sequence or to a track in a different sequence. I say this because it is what I do. Hope this helps? 8)

*sorry for the typo*

cool thanx Dasinsation, I hope JJ implements a one command solution cause it would be great for the workflow to just be able to bang out a beat and then a couple clicks have everything separated for you.

Haven't worked with this new OS version yet but ; isn't it possible to do something with grid edit? Maybe just copy a track like 3 times en then easily delete the stuff you want seperated(for instance you have a drumloop on track 1 and you copy it 3 times. On track 1 the kick, on track 2 the snare and on track 3 the hats) through grid edit could be a fast option

A good tip to the above-mentioned suggestion, what I do is erase all the unwanted samples with the erase button at 300bpm, so you run through the sequence quicker. then just change it back to the original bpm once you're done. deleting it step edit is ok, but gets quite tedious at some times.

i mentioned this once. as alot of people make their drum loops on one track (saving to keep switching) i thought it would be a good idea to have an 'explode track' feature.

this would help me immensely when it comes to tracking out.

not sure how and what would need to be implemented.

Why doesn't someone suggest it?

copy the track that your kick/snare/hats are on to other tracks

if you want track 1 to be the kick, click erase (by track mute) and then tap the pad for the hat and the snare, if you want track 2 to be the snare, click erase and tap the pads that correspond with the kick and hat..

feel me?

Yeah! Like : You press the explode button an every single pad event gets its own track, that would be very awesome especially for drums.. now you have to copy and erase.. takes a little bit longer but it gets the job done..

You can just copy ... check out dasinsation's post above.

Yo fellas... you need to be using the SEQ EDIT screen (MODE+PAD 9)... don't copy and then erase... that's too many steps... just ust the MOVE command in SEQ edit, and you can select what pad or pads to move to which track. 1 step... easy. I don't see any need to request any "explode" or whatever feature, since it's basically already there.
