Hello all, I'm having trouble w/ my MPC 1000 in my current setup, which is:
Computer w/ only 1 midi out (sending clock + notes on different channels) >> MPC 1K >> drum machine >> synth.
The software I'm using (Fruity Loops) unfortunately cannot be a slave- one of the biggest fallbacks of this program.
The clock is for obvious reasons, the midi (note) data is for the drum machine and the synth, not the MPC. I also want to record midi sequences directly on the MPC for triggering notes on the drum machine and on the synth, which is why I'm restricted to keep the daisy chaining the way it is.
The problem is that midi notes from the computer are triggering pads on the MPC, and I don't want that, those notes are for the other devices, however, I'm not finding a way to ignore these notes on the MPC. I don't know why this has been so difficult, but maybe I'm just missing something obvious??
Okay, so you MUST be on a track w/ an empty program to achieve what I'm needing?? However, that makes constructing my sequences extremely frustrating because I have to turn off my seqs on the computer if I'm to work on the MPC seqs.
Is the only way to get around this is by recording the midi seqs from the computer to the MPC and play the midi seqs on the MPC?? If so, that's also frustrating b/c it makes editing these seqs after putting them on the MPC much more time consuming.
Thanks in advance for any help!
