I would, yeah.

$30 is peanuts,
and I must've spent about £3000 on the MPC4000 and accessories since 2002.
Not to mention the Hours of my time learning it - and I come at least £20 an hour

30$ is nothing. Just to sort out the bugs it would take away all the talk about the 4000 beeing a buggy machine and thus rising the value of the 4000 itself. So fvck yeah.

Usually I don`t get to involve with this on the board as I have talked with Pro Audio over the yrs on this.

But yes for $30 its a no- brainer I`m definitivity in.

Hello adrian, how are you doing today?
It sounds like a plan...
As long as it's an improvement and not a headache, I would pay the $30 for an MPC4000 OS upgrade most assuredly. :D

It might be that an OS update written by someone else than AKAI has to cost abit more than 30$. Maybe around 50$ or something, since what it boils down to is paying an independent software developer to pick up where AKAI left off.

If you look at JJ and his OS, theres ALOT more mpc1000 and mpc2500 out there compared to the mpc4000, so we might have to pay a bit more than them for an OS update.

Just puttin some perspective into it.

You guys remember there was a change in the OS software developers? Development moved from Japan to the UK, well, the UK guys are independent. They may be willing to work on a new OS but ,it comes down to 2 things. Money and authorization form AKAI.

I have emailed my contact @ AKAI and he trying to get me in touch with whoever it is we need to talk to work things out.

The $30 figure is just a price I threw out there. IF something is worked out it could cost more. No one knows.

Yeah! Me and adrian are talkin to the same guy (Sean W.) and the best news of them all is that those independent developers still HAVE THE SOURCE CODE!!

Apparently there was a new OS scheduled and worked on by these developers with bugfixes and some new features (no idea which ones) but when Numark aquired Akai they CANCELLED the OS update.

So know you guys know, this is the only way anything could happen, lets hope it will!

And lets Numark/Akai gives the permission for this to happen, otherwise we're probably fvcked
