Im trying to use the direct recording feature to record some sounds form my synths into the sequence. It seems you cant record the old fashioned way a la the akai manual. Ive looked at the jjos manual online under AUDIO TRACK but cant seem to decifer anything through the character display. Is there anything there that can help me?

I like the Direct Recording feature. Once you learn how to use this feature it will be a breeze.

Why?
The Audio tracks work really well if you understand how they are structured in the v5.xx.
It only appears that the Akai is better but the JJ does the same and more so again why do you think the Aka is better?

On the main page move your cursor to the track box where it says drum or midi and change it to audio (the audio tracks start at track 57 so you can just go to track 57 and above anyway).
Move your cursor onto to the track number, press the window button and choose your recording settings (analog/digital, stereo/mono, name).
Back on the main page hit record and play.
