What is Bluebox?

what is it and is it something that can be useful to a MPC500 user?

Yep its a great program for making pgm files for your mpc. So you pretty much can go ahead and load your sounds to the pads you want them to go to and save the pgm file/.wav. Once you save it transfer it to your MPC and load it up. It will load up all the sounds to the pads you selected. Great when working with a bunch of samples. I downloaded it, it has 16 pads, will this still be compatible with the 500 model?



Thanks by the way, this looks really cool...this is going to be a big help I think if it is compatible.

Subtract 16-12 and thats how many sounds you are going to loose. It will still read the file. The sounds may be a lil out of place b/c of the 12 pads but it will still work. Thats if you use more than 12 sounds. But if you want just use the first 12 pads on Bank A and then go to Bank B and add 12 more sounds. Make sense?! Should work that way to fam.

next question is...I have loaded up 12 pads on the bluebox program, I save it and import the pgm file to my 500...load it on the 500 and it appears to load but no sound on the pads? What am I doing wrong?

Did you export the .wav files(sounds) out with the pgm file. A .pgm file with no sounds is useless. Make a folder for the pgm file and .wav files. Then transfer to your pc and then load the pgm file. Should work then.

ahhhh... Ok I think I see what you mean... I was wondering how could the file only be 11kb... duh... ok I will give that a go...many thanks again!!!

Definitely feelin the Blue Box... I now have a entire library of program files...
man it's convenient to just load all my pads with sounds with a fast click-n-scroll now. Butter!
