Problem syncing mpc2500 to Motif es8

I looked at like 5 different forums, brainf*cked the Manual, and tried everything i can think of, but the motif manual sucks, and so i got the set up the way its suppose to be. Im slavin the motif to the MPC and it seems to work....somewhat. it so seems that the MPC controls the motif, but when i hit the keys on the motif instead of getting the sounds of the motif it plays bakk what i have on the pad bank on the mpc. Anybody have a idea? Lampdog??

MPC + Water Tank = Problem Solved...

Use the Motif to level your coffee table

mpc midi out to motif midi in
motif midi out to mpc midi in

go to a midi track in ur mpc select the midi channel ie. 1a 2a 3a, etc etc
hit record play the keys
that's it
no need to go crazy

iight ill try it again, but ive tried that before, and what has me puzzled is... do i have to run 1/4 inch audio cables from the motif to the mpc as well for sound?

i understand that midi simply maps the points where the keys are hit. it doesnt actually record the sounds, it simply triggers em. so i guess there is no way sound could travel thru midi cables, but when i looked at other setups they never run audio cables

ya its all good. but you need a mixer. midi and audio is separate things.

i dont know whos setups you looked at but they were probably for show if there were no audio cables hooked up. lol.
