I just bought an MPC 2000 off of craigslist. It came with a Zip Drive (for more storage I think??) but no floppies but the startup disk.
Everywhere I read says not to go the floppy route, and instead to install the disk drive. But it's kinda expensive and I don't want to drop that much money on this thing.
Does the MPC have an internal storage? Can I just forget storage, sample a few breaks into it, and start chopping and work with a limited pallet?
Or what are my other options? I don't have a computer that can take floppy's, it's a modern Mac. The USB Floppy drives of Amazon all have terrible reviews that say they don't work with modern computers. This is tough, man

Here's the front. Few buttons missing, but the guy showed me that it all works OK.
I think this is the normal drive, the startup floppy was inside.
He told me it has the 8 outs extension and an extra effects card installed.
