WindowsXP has been problem free for me for over 3 years now
. Get with the times, Windows2000 is a thing of the past. And if you're going to use a PC at all in your process, then you could have issues with all these thing you mentioned anyway, not just timestretching. I had my 2000xl for 2 years before I got a PC to connect it to. I only had the MPC timestretch available, and I used it all the time. I can get it the right length EVERY TIME, and I don't even need a f@cking calculator for basic math, but the wierd "adjust" setting that doesn't tell you what its adjusting or how much, makes a HUGE difference in the sound and it's all trial and error. I use a PC to sample and edit (and add loop points to) all my samples and I NEVER had my PC crash, NEVER had any problems with the transfer and I NEVER had to wait more than 30 seconds for ANY editing process. I love my 2000xl, more than any other piece of gear I have ever used, I wouldn't even buy a 4000 if I could afford it. But the timestretch option on the MPC is VERY time-consuming and not user friendly. So stop trying to say different. We all know its a pain in the @ss, your just tryin to say the MPC is better than a PC for making music, and we all (or most, at least) agree with that. Except certain things, and timestretching is one of 'em.
BTW, I did RTFP, and I'll BRB with more internet acronyms, which are, IMHO, making me ROTFL.
