Okay,
Akai have just released the MPC1000 and it looks pretty good, but no delay, no timestretch and reverse of samples. The USB port makes it enticing and it size is cool for someone who wants to travel alot. Other than that it can't do much more than a MPC2000XL. Also it is really cheap. BUT, I don't think I will convert. If it was 24bit 96khz I wouldn't think twice.
I can't imagine too many new MPC users, and I mean new i.e has never used an MPC, getting the 2000 over the 1000. It is just too cheap. So now AKAI have a gap in the market between the 1000 and the 4000.
I tink the next obvious step is to re-release the 2000 but with 24bit and 96khz then they have holed up that area of the market and I personaly would be one happy chappy.
What does everyone else think.
