Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000
By andy_mouldberg Mon Jan 19, 2004 3:13 pm
I cant see anything in step edit mode, it seems that theres nothin.. but there should be, the song still plays normally, and when i roll down a sequense whit step key i can hear a sound when it hits it, but theres nothing there? This started when i copied a sequense, then i wondered why there is nothing in there and then i realised that its same with every sequense. I turned my mpc2000xl of and loaded the song and sounds but same thing still. View: ALL EVENTS is on. ??????

You'l only see something in step edit if there is something at that particular event (time)

What you should try is to program some str8 16 hats (1bar) on track one.
Go into the step edit screen for that track. Make sure the VIEW: is set to ALL EVENTS

You should see the 1st hat @ 001.01.00 >>>>Use the STEP keys/ Cursors to jog along to the next hats programed in at 16ths

See anything now?

I can set new sounds in every sequense ,and see them too. But still i cant see the old ones, i can hear them but not see. VIEW: is ALL EVENTS.
And when i try to scrol it whit event button it goes rigt to end of that sequense, so its like their no there but still are somehow?
I've been working whit this song for quit a while now, and suddenly when i copied a sequense it stardet this??

your on the right track that the sound is on. Example, if your in step edit, and your looking for your kick drum, make sure your on the track that the kick is on, or you will hear it, but not see it.

You do not have to program right on TC values to see them in Step Edit. Just hold shift and Press < or > while in step edit to move to the next event (just like it shows right on the front of the MPC!) . You old salts should know and mention this.
