I know his resume. Disco guy. Lots of other stuff under his belt. He did some whack KMFDM remixes but I know he knows his stuff so you know his sample disk is nice.

ScarFace soundtrack is far from wack.

Your right. I forgot about that. I just thought the KMFDM remixes were though.

if you are going to use samples, dig for **** sake.

also, on giorgio, isn't he one of the main sample sources for dj shadow's organ donor?

lol but im sure if they minded you working off their labor they wouldnt burn the sounds to cd in the first place.

lol but aye, someone here said it best: to each his own.

i'm not going to try to convert anyone to my way of thinking, this is only the explanation behind my thoughts.

i just feel that finding new good loops and breaks is a more important part of the beat making process. i mean i love good drum programming like jel and shadow but say you gave all the loops breaks and what not to make a beat to 10 producers here. i would bet that a good number of the beats they make with that set will sound pretty similar. i will never say that i think using sample cds is all right but unless you have some amazing programming skills to be able to make truely original compositions out of them i dont see how you could make any justification for them.

that i understand. i see what you mean. new sounds is very important. i agree. i haven't really bought many cd's before. but i used a few before. havent had any complaints yet about my stuff sounding like someone elses cause of the samples i use, but i do understand

Fresh sounds are always good. Good programming is key. But Either way you go, "digging" or using a sample disk, you are still working off of someone else's labor. If you've got skills you can make good ish with samples from kids toys.

exactly. if i were to use a sample cd, not only am i using the orginal composers labor but also the labors of who ever found it and made the cd. double the stealing.

bridbrain i get your point, but to keep calling it stealing dosnt sound right. not trying to make a huge discussion about it lol, but its stealing to purchase a sample cd and use the sounds on it, but not stealing when you take sounds or loops from vinyl? thats weird :?
