. But I need a sampler that i can go in and do what ever i can think of to my sample. I have a esi2000 but that sucka is slow ITS NICE but its slow. I will check out some of the samplers yall suggested. Thanks for the comments
H-TOWN IS IN HERE
A fast rackmouint sampler
Get a good understanding of what you want to do, then go after that.
If speed is an issue then you are either trying to deal with too large a chunk of data or you need to be using a computer.
The processor in the typical rack is running at a relatively slow speed and DSP is a heavy task.
Doing your DSP on a computer is the only real way to add a functional speed increase.
Basically you sample into the computer or the MPC do your editing in Sound Forge, WaveLab, Recycle etc then load the wav into the MPC to trigger (or use MPCeditor to build your .pgm).
Rackmounts are based on liking the sound of a certain older unit, maybe needing to put it in a rack to do shows or because you need realtime control, moreso than just for adding features.
A typical rack can add features, effects and things like that, but it's not going to be a fast about processing sounds.
