Are the quality of the "free" sounds on the net as good as the expensive ones? Most of the sounds that I have gotten off of the net are mp3's and I can play them on my computer and they sound good but what about once I convert them to wav files? Also what programs are proving and easy to use to convert wav files to mp3's and vice versa? I am wanting to use all of these sounds that I have in my computer on my mpc2000xl. Also does the mpc2000xl actually read wav files(meaning will it play them as actual sounds)? I have been on some "pay for sounds" sites and they all say that their sounds come in "MPC2000/2000xl,MPC60/60II,MPC4000" format and also wav format. Is there any diffrence between the two? I have read the manual on this subject but without having a way to try it(All of my Free sounds are mp3's) I really don't know.Prior to me downloading samples all of my sounds came from records and cd's but the process of editing samples in the mpc is a long one.I am basically trying to amass a huge collection of sounds on my computer that I can then convert to whatever format my MPC2000xl will read and then use The MPC Editor to make programs that I can use in my MPC.Sorry for the long winded post but I have so many samples that I want to use that I can't because I don't know how to make it all work.
