Hi i recently brought a new mpc2000xl and am quite surprised by the instability of the OS. Before buying it i was told that they are quite stable.
However mine crashes quite frequently when recording with external midi instruments, in particular when sending sys ex to the mpc sequencer. When trying to delete tracks/seq with lots of sys ex messages a crash nearly always occurs. Also when i left the mpc for around half an hour while playing with another insturment i came back to notice that the mpc had a black line through the middle and all LEDS on, it had crashed. I turned it on and off, however didn't start up normally until i disconnected the power...
Are these crashes common? Has anyone encountered these crashes?
I think it's only fair that Akai updated the OS to fix these problems. Considering they still sell mpc2000xls new i think it's their obligation to keep updating the OS. Someone said something about starting a partition. I think this is an excellent idea. How do we go about doing this...
