This has been mentioned twice but without a model number. A name would help, else it smells like vaporware. etc. etc. etc..
Word, I guess I got it twisted between 'channels' and actual number of i/o. Could've sworn I seen it when I was deciding between the card and the outboard, but, you have alot of knowledge and I definately believe you. The cat asked if the card was a ripoff, which he had been told by others. I say, yeah it is, and that's my opinion. I think the algorythms sound terrible, even for the money and convenience. I definately think cats would appreciate you straitening out some misinformation on those units I mentioned, but you taking it too far. C'mon, you telling me you need 15 years experience to run a reverb through an aux channel on a board? You telling me the term 'pre fader' doesn't exist? If you really believe both of those statements, you in the wrong business, dog.
True enough tho: the card is very convenient, keeps it all in the box, and you don't need a board to mix the efx w/. In my opinion, even my old ass Alesis midiverb4 was more useable than the EB16. But I realize that the dude had bought the thing already, and it does what it does. My take is, if you got other gear, it'll blow that joint out the water, point blank. I don't record efx to tape, but it was ok for making 2 tracks & beat tapes. If you use one, don't take it personal, but I'm glad I have other efx now, is all I'm sayin. If you like convenience over sound, yeah, it's great. Why don't you google the word "Nerd"...
