That sounds like a valid opinion to me, one that I'd have to agree with. I don't think that these bad results are a reflection of what the Maschine is capable of though. To be honest, most of the music I've heard put out by Akai at trade shows using the MPC line was just as bad, not to mention all the garbage I hear from a lot of MPC users on these Soundclick, Youtube and Myspace type sites. However, we both know lots of great music was made with the MPC line as well as lots of other machines. I try to look at machines as far as what they're capable of or what it can be forced to do, not what their users are capable of or what it was designed to do. I believe anything capable of making sounds or sampling them can be used to do something creative and impressive if put in the hands of a person so inclined (even with bugs) -- the MPCs have had the longevity to prove this. In the grand perspective, the MPC line themselves are actually very basic machines themselves that don't do any specific thing spectacularly (this isn't a diss, I own a few)...but they've still been used eventually to great result.
