And thats the only difference to the 1-8 outputs.

Other difference is the influence of the L/R knob at the front.

Long time I didn't use my s950, still trying to repair it by myself. As a RTFM lover, I wish the japanese manual had been translated. It has a tutorial part and some interesting figures. It's better than the english version and the french version.
NavNek> When I started beatmaking I was in the same case struggling with a 1K and a s950. A tip I can give you at the moment is that you can monitor the sound coming from the s950 mix output into the 1K rec in using the input thru function.

In the mpc, make a new programme, (I called this ‘keygroups’). Still on the main screen, press the window key while your ‘keygroups’ programme is highlighted, and go into the note tab. For some reason, the defaults were not in chromatic order, so you need to go through and set them so. Set all these notes in sequence from midi note 35 C0 assigned to pad A1; midi note 36 B1 to pad A2 etc. You may as well set this up for 64 notes across all 4 pad banks from 35 CO to 98 D6 on pad D16.
Once you’ve done this, save the programme, and you never need to do it again – just load it up each time you want to use the mpc with the s950.
