Lately my MPC has been getting less and less use, as I've been focusing my energy more on guitar and bass. When I do use it, I mostly just use it to control or sequence Battery 3. It seems like such a waste, so I'm thinking that I'd like to build a couple of kits in the MPC using the battery samples so that I can work on some drum sequences without having to boot up the computer.
Have any of you built programs using the Battery samples? If so, how did you go about it. There are just so many multisamples in Battery that I'm not sure which ones to choose. For example, when dealing with multisamples for individual drums, do you recommend just dividing the total number of samples for that particular drum by 4 and grabbing the first, last, and two others in between? Also, what settings did you use (level, range). It's been ages since I've built and MPC kit.
If I do build some kits, I was thinking of using Pad 187 - as I'm on a Mac. Is there a better way to accomplish this. I'd like to get a game plan together before tackling this chore.
