im having a problem! im trying to record digital audio from protools 10 into a alesis masterlink 9600 recorder, so i can keep it at 96k insted of going to 44.1k. the problem is im not getting any audio into the masterlink. its set at 96k, the input source is set to digital. if anybody can help, i need it..

Check your routing & settings in PT. Make sure things are bussed accordingly. If everything seems to be ok there, then take a look at your utility s/w for the ultralite.

It's usually something that's overlooked thus making things seem more than they are.

Oh, and make sure you're using 75 ohm coax cables instead of regular rca.

I believe there is no such thing as a BALANCED SPDIF cables. Yeah you dont wnt to use RCAs at all. Toslink or 75 ohm coax as stated by dabmiester.
