The Arrival of the MPC2500, will not affect the future updates for the 1K - Just so ya'll ain't have to worry, i got a mail from some guy at "Alesis/Numark/Ion/Akai
Technical Support and Return Authorizations", after I mailed akai about the big question:

Why would it?

Akai would have been working on the 2500 before the 1000 was even released. They've known what both products will and wont do for a long time. It's not as though they decide to do an OS update to fix bugs and just throw some new features in.

The MPC2500 wont affect the 1k's updates, but that doesn't mean the 1k will be getting timestretch, zoning, or any other feature the 2500 has.

let the mpc stay free of those, i'd rather see new stuff that i can't already do on my DAW...imagine what we HAVEN"T thought of yet.
