Filter boaps?

My friend that has got that the mpc3000 says its very easy to make the low pass-filter fade out like "boap" on a bass sound with the filter-modulation.

I'm having a little trouble doing this on my 1k. Can you get the filter mod to work on your 1k properly?

the filter modulation can work "ok" on fast hits (16th snares for instance), provided they are one shot.

or maybe your friend if talking about filter envelope. but there is none on the 1k (not sure if the 3000 has it though )
