MPC1000 Or the Akai MPC2000XL-MCD

Hey ppl whats up basically i've been in a right state of confusion.

I've been doin research on the MPC1000 and it was my original choice as im on a budget. I'm able to get it for £529 and then i was going to add a yamaha mg 12/4 mixer for £108.

But after i calculated how much money i'll recieve from my voluntary job and my new retail job i'll be recieving £780 so i've been doin some research on the MPC2000XL-MCD which i can get £679 but means no mixer.

Some input on the situation would be great as i feel that i will be pointed in the best direction possible.

Get the MPC1000 and the Mixer. With the new 2.0 OS, you wont need the MPC2000XL. Me personally, I would get 2 pieces of equipment instead of 1

just read the thread above(/below) about the akai japan press release regarding mpc1k os v2.0. I think that feature list puts it over and above the 2kxl.

yeah i agree, 2000xl is a classic but i would not buy one unless i already had a 1000 and just wanted something for live drums.

hmmm, have i read a thread like this before?

I think both machines have advantages and disadvantages over the other. spend alot of time with both then make a decision.

i'm sorry but i have to do it. the only difference you would find in other threads talking about this is the ability to have a card reader in the MCD.
