hey, i jus got my mpc 1000. I make alotta original beats usin wav files from reason. sometimes wen im playing a sequence one of my loops abruptly stops, ususally wen the beat gets complex. Is there a way to prevent this???

i know alot of people have been having similar prob.
with longer samples that will get skipped when doin live shit.
then just come back in next loop.

make sure you have the latest os, samples trimmed appropriately, polyphonic stereo samples set to monophonic, and i would suggest chopping each sample as small as possible using recycle.

I only use the Sub tractor, malström and some NNXT sounds like strings/horns etc...

same here, and some accoustic drum samples for low volume, stereo drum overlaying.

i actually don't dig in dc at all man - i'm in fairfax right now, carless and penniless. what i do is i go to goodwill auctions and buy records in bulk - terrible quality records (TONS of really corny christian music like lonnie parsons and carey laundry) but it's like 100 vinyl for 50 bucks so i can't complain. samples are everywhere.

Yea i used to fuk wit good will. Matter of fact, all my beats this last 3 months have come from goodwills. I think I bought every record from every good will in Bmore. I left my number now so they call me when they get shipments. I just found this BIG ASZ record collecters shop down the street my house. Son they got everthing u could ever dream of in their. Its like two floors with records from floor to ceiling! They have like 5 listening stations. Im gonna post pics cause this spot is amazing. And the records are cheap as shyt
