I got this letter back from AKAI (USA).

Keep watching the site in the nest two months for announcements on what the next OS for the MPC1000 will be. I don’t have any final details that I can share, but I’m confident it will make people happy. It will be available for download at no charge. I haven't heard anything final on when that operating system is to be released. New operating systems are currently in the works though.



There will be a kit available for installing the drives and the hard drives will need to have a new OS upgrade.

what's good fam? i understand this is your first post and you're just trying to contribute and help out by giving us heads up but this has been brought up, tossed around and ran through the mud. you will see responses like above if posts and new threads are created without searching to see if what you want to say has been brought up already. akai has been saying that for the past 3 months now. please do the research on this site. if you do a search and use the keyword OSv2.0 you will see how many posts come back.

and the kits are already available and peeps here already have them installed in their mpc's. matter of fact, look down at my signature and click on all of the links. i have the new os, i've made videos on what the new os can and will do. i even talk about the HDM10 (hard drive adapter) please do yourself a service and read through them.
