Like SleepRiddle said. I work on a computer at work so the last thing I want to do is use one for music. I was in the same postition. i didn't know if I would benefit from using an MPC, but since I've had mine now (1yr later) I don't regret it one bit. I love using my mpc. Once I'm done makin a beat, then i track out into ABleton Live 5, and mix from there. I looked into the mpd, and trigger finger, but opted not too. Sequencing on the mpc is way easy, and allows you to just make music. I used apc to make beats for while, and it just felt stale. But after using the mpc my love for haedware has gowin. I'm rockin a ASR 10, and MPC1k combo for right now soon to be 2500. But back to the point you can't go wrong with an mpc1k, especially with new os.

Well, my hiphop has evolved as crazy. Great for offbeat stuff and just for the direct sampling. Its great to have it all one one box and not having to fuċk around with different programs.
And it looks good!
Well the black one does.
And it looks good!
