real talk!
Akai KNOWS that they clearly f****d up wit the pad design. At least they were NICE enough to attempt to pull themselves out of bankruptcy with putting a price on a design that was
believed to be standard .... in the first place... just think of all the 60, 2000, 3000, 4000. owners who sold their machines or wanted an extra drum machine off of faith, only for it to just break like that?! Of all the money we put in Akai's pocket. You would think that they wouldn't treat us like this. The name Akai is like saying Hip-Hop and Electronica. Alot of us put faith towards this company to give us a high quality product. Good pads, solid sequencing, nice groove, and a solid O.S. to polish it off. Apparently they dont give a f*** about their legacy.
we had to rely on a 3rd party company to give us the support that we deserved for $30.00... wow.
How many people do you know that has the balls to crack open a $1000 machine?
Not many... which is why they were selling the invidual pads and sensors... for soooooooooo.... long.
Akai gave us cancer then thought it was cute to treat our problem with chemo and they had the cure for cancer the WHOLE time!
i think its messed up that they would build a drum machine so cheap like that when they priced it so high!
oh well. such is life...
just dont be suprised when Akai starts selling MPC 1000 xl's
with the flip screen and the pad upgrade...
