I know this has been done to death and I've read loads of posts on this but still can't puzzle out whether my machine has the new pads. I've only just received it here in the UK and it says MPC1000BK on the box (without the N) .
Compared to my trusty RY30 drum machine the pads don't seem that great, you seem to have to hit them pretty hard. Maybe that's just the way it is and I need to get used to it.
Just testing the velocity input I had to hit it with every ounce of strength to register above 100! Adjusting the sensitivity does help though.
Can't get any sense out of the dealers here in UK
Any ideas how I can check?
Was it brand new from a store...or used? I'm guessing the "N" would be on the box or in the documentation. If not, it really does sound like you got one with the faulty pads. If you can confirm this...I'd get a refund or exchange if you can.
With three different 1k's on the market it must be a nightmare buying one...trying to figure out whether you are buying one with good pads or not.
good luck on that though.
