not every black 1000's have the new pads...

Was it brand new from a store...or used? I'm guessing the "N" would be on the box or in the documentation. If not, it really does sound like you got one with the faulty pads. If you can confirm this...I'd get a refund or exchange if you can.

With three different 1k's on the market it must be a nightmare buying one...trying to figure out whether you are buying one with good pads or not.

I have ampc 1000 bk without the N and i thougth it had the shite pads...but no i now know for def it has the good pads. the shit pads are singular and the good pads are all on the same matt of rubber so best thing to do if you dont want to take the face plate off (which is really easy and wont invalidate your warranty) is to squueze the corner of the pad and lift you should then see if its a single piece or part of a sheet of rubber. but to be double sure take the face plate off. its easy and theres videos on you tube to tell you how. it takes 5 mins. Normally you just need to adjust the sensitivity on the pads velocity for it to feel nice to drum with your finger!

Wrong... I bought a BK and it was initially a completely connected pad. I had problems the buttons triggering double when I rapidly pressed them, so I took it back and got another BK. I immediately felt the difference when I pushed down on them. They were much softer and triggerred beautifully. They happen to be single pads that feel 10x better than my first BK.

this Curt guys wrong im afraid, the pads are either singular or all on one pad of rubber. The all on one are the good pads. i had double triggering on my bk until i tweeked the sensitivity. mode pad 10 then f4 pad.

Curt, it sounds to me like a case of human error and theres no need to be rude. We can all be rude if needs be.

Its important to be nice.

To conslude one sheet of rubber with all the pads on it new good pads. singular duff pads.

let us know what youve got. id think the new ones as i bought mine from new in March.

I don't know if you're reffering to me, but I am not speaking about anything other than my experience with my 1000BK. If I see an incorrect statement made, then I should correct it. Again this is based off of my experience. I bought a 1000BK. It was double triggereing on the buttons which were stiff and connected with each other. I took it back within the first week and replaced it with another 1000BK. The buttons on the new 1000BK were softer and seperated where I could pull them out. I haven't had any problems with double triggering since. So to say the single pads are bad, is a false statement.

Had a look last night, couldn't be sure but it seems that they're all connected on a single piece of rubber as when you move the pads slightly, all of them move which suggests they're all connected. So I'm guessing I have the new pads. Ah well, I think I just need to crack on and make some tunes. What a fantastic machine it is. As a software developer the last thing I want to do when I get home is to turn the computer on so I just love that I can make tunes the old skool way. Like when I used to hook my S950 up to the MMT8 sequencer many years ago.

Congrats you have the new pads my friend. Now just tweek the sensitivty and your flying. I agree it is an amazing machine. I have been learning since March. You tube is a good place to watch beat videoas and see what people do as well as keeping a beedy eye on this site.
