Trigger Finger feels good and has a lot of configuration options to work for your specific needs.
I've had a 2000xl and 1000 and there's not much difference in the pad feel - you can adjust the sensitivity (velocity curve)
If you can afford to use both an MPC and Live on a good computer you're in a good position to take your music further than the next guy but if you have to choose, choose wisely
Personally I use Ableton and only Ableton with a bunch of plugs and a trigger finger - a room full of old school, new school vinyl, two turntables and a m*xer -
Honestly, it's up to you - neither one is going to write music for you, that's something you need talent for and if you got talent it really doesn't matter what you use...know what I mean
