Hi,

I am new to MPC 1000 and also new to this forum. So, I apologize if this has been asked before.

I have a sampled phrase which is about 5 seconds long and I added it to a track as an event and made a sequence of it. I play the sequence and it loops fine and everything sounds good. BUT!

When I hit stop in the middle of the loop, the sample keeps playing until the end of the sample is reached! I read in the manual if I hit the STOP key three time quickly it stops all sound playing back. I tested that and it worked. It also worked with a foot switch. (pressing the foot switch 3 times, quickly)

But is there a configuration parameter that I can set so the STOP button works as if it's pressed 3 times quickly?

I have the AKAI OS, not sure which version, probably older version. (I don't know how to find the OS version) Should I upgrade to JJ OS?

Thank you.

FYI, I checked and found out I had an older version of Akai OS (1.x). I upgraded to Akai OS 2.12 and STOP button behavior stayed the same.

Your help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Thanks... I didn't try that, but I did find a solution.

I think with your solution, I still have to stop my guitar playing and then hit mute PAD, right? Or configure my foot switch to hit that pad.

But here is the solution that I found.

- I went to PROGRAM mode and chose my sample.
- I hit WINDOW and it shows Play Mode for 4 different layers of that PAD.
- I then changed my play mode from ONE SHOT to NOTE ON.

Then I went back to my track and changed the duration of that note which plays the sample from the small number that it was to something like 1150. (this depends on your tempo and the duration of the sample) Then I noticed a couple of hiccups when it was looping this is because the sample I have is not perfectly at 96bpm which claims to be. So I adjusted the tempo up and down until I got rid of the hiccup.

Now it works like a charm. I hit PLAY and starts the playing and when I hit STOP, it stops right away.

Thanks guys.
